Our Areas of Expertise
Couples Therapy
Marny Zimmer is trained in the Gottman Method and assists couples in their exploration of how to strengthen their communication, work through questions about their future or any other shared goal.
Fertility and Perinatal Support
If you are struggling with infertility, or have started the assisted reproductive treatment process, we’re here for you. Therapy can be so helpful during the high-stress IUI or IVF process, or in the process of trying to conceive. Likewise, adjusting to pregnancy or being a new mom can turn our worlds upside down. If you could use some guidance or are wondering if what you’re feeling is “normal,” give us a call. Katie McCarthy holds a Certification in Perinatal Mental Health and is skilled in supporting new and expecting parents in this transition.
Parenting Support
We know it takes a village to raise healthy, resilient kids and we applaud you for expanding yours. Whether your child is receiving their own therapy that you want to understand better, or you could use some parenting strategies, TBC is here to assist you. Lauren Spehr is trained in SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions) and Adrienne Eynon has decades of experience working with parents of young children.
LGBTQ
TBC is an affirming institution and welcomes clients who are exploring all aspects of their sexuality or gender identity. We also assist families seeking the most helpful ways to support one another in this journey.
Couples therapy
Katie McCarthy is a Board Certified Registered Art Therapist and a Certified Yoga Instructor, and frequently incorporates art-making and/or yoga into therapy, when participants are open to the process. No prior experience needed! In art therapy, the focus is on the process, not the product, and together, we use the artwork to facilitate future discussion. All artwork is confidential and considered part of a therapeutic file. If you’re interested in integrating yoga, we can use it as a tool within the therapy process.
